The acoustics here are good enough to hold concerts (which have occurred on occasion). Interestingly, these caves were busy during the Spanish Civil War (when it provided refuge for the Republican soldiers, as well as being used as an aircraft Factory and powder keg). Eco-tourists and hikers can walk from here to the 1,205 meter-high Cabez\u00f3n de Oro mountain. Canelobre is said to be Spain\u2019s largest and deepest cave system.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These caves should only be visited as part of a guided tour.
